Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability, and Legislation: 3 ECTS for LUMSA students

The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence SUSTAIN-AI-REG offers university students a training course dedicated to the themes of artificial intelligence, sustainability and regulatory quality , with the recognition of 3 ECTS .
The initiative is part of the 1st Open Forum — Innovation for Regulation 2026 , the Centre's first public event, divided into three international conferences:
Rome — June 5, 2026 (attendance required)
Barcelona — June 26, 2026 (remote)
London — September 18, 2026 (remote)
Educational objectives
The program offers students the opportunity to acquire up-to-date knowledge on key regulatory issues in AI, develop critical analysis and drafting skills, engage in dialogue with high-profile speakers from the academic and institutional worlds, and explore the relationship between law, technology, and sustainability from a multidisciplinary perspective.
Course structure (75 hours in total)
The recognition of the 3 CFUs includes:
participation in the three meetings (mandatory in-person in Rome; remotely for Barcelona and London);
individual study of the materials provided for each session;
writing a final paper (4,000–5,000 words, in Italian or English) on one of the topics covered in the Forum panels.
The paper will be evaluated out of 30 by a committee chaired by the Center's director. Papers rated 27/30 or higher may be selected for publication in the Blog section of the Center's website, with mention through institutional channels (newsletter, LinkedIn, partner academic networks).
Requirements and applications
A good knowledge of English is required (at least level B1 ). To participate:

Submit your final project by September 30, 2026, to sustainai@lumsa.it.
The 3 CFU will be recognized in TAF F or as supernumerary, following an at least sufficient evaluation of the thesis.
